Women's soccer team faces Broward College for Region 8 Conference title

The Eastern Florida State College women's soccer team will host Broward College for a Region 8 Conference Tournament title on Sunday night at Titan Soccer Complex.

The Titans, who defeated ASA Miami 3-0 on Friday night, will vie for their eighth straight trip to the district tournament. For Broward College, it is the first time they have been in a Region 8 championship. The Seahawks knocked off No. 2 seed Daytona State College 2-1 to reach the finals which will kick off at 7 p.m.

"They are flying right now, head coach Mike Goodrich has done a heck of a job with this team," Eastern Florida State College women's soccer coach Jeff Carr said. "We have to be ready to play, you can't take them for granted. We beat them twice this year but that means nothing, Daytona beat us twice last year and we beat them when it counted so it is a huge game for us and hopefully we can take care of business and move on."

The Titans defeated Broward College 4-1 and 4-0 in the two meetings this season. The winner will advance to the Southeast District Tournament next week.
