It's Sophomore Night! Women's soccer team hosts Daytona in Region 8 matchup

Saturday night will be a special night for the Eastern Florida State College women's soccer team.

Not only are they hosting Daytona State College for first place in the Region 8 Conference, it is the final regular season home game for head coach Jeff Carr who is retiring after the season, and will also be Sophomore Night at Titan Soccer Complex.

"This will be my final sophomore class – a great bunch of young ladies. Four of them were with us last year when we went to the Final Four and I see great things in their future as they are all true student athletes," Eastern Florida State College women's soccer coach Jeff Carr said. "It is hard to believe that it is our last regular season game, it seems as though it was just the preseason."

The Titans and Falcons come into Saturday night's game 5-2 in the conference and the winner will win the regular season title and be the No. 1 seed in next weekend's Region 8 Conference Tournament which will also be at Titan Soccer Complex.

The series has been close as the Titans hold a 5-2 edge in past seven, but six of those matches have been one-goal games. The Titans won the first matchup this season at Daytona State College 3-2.

After the game, sophomores Klesha Darroux, Ebony Wiseman, Cristina Garriga, Sophia Kenny and Leslie Tapia will be honored.

The game will kick off at 7 p.m. and admission is free at Titan Soccer Complex. The game will also be shown live on the EFSC Titans YouTube page.
