Women's soccer team tops Broward, sits atop Region 8 standings

The Eastern Florida State College women's soccer team took the lead in the Region 8 Conference standings Tuesday night with a win against Broward College.

The fifth-ranked Titans improved to 4-1 in the conference with the 4-1 victory on the road. Broward fell to 3-2 with the loss.

Klesha Darroux scored two goals for the second straight game and has seven goals this season. Darroux opened the scoring for the Titans four minutes into the game on an assist from Keli Lindquist. In the 57th minute Darroux scored her second goal on an assist from Teyah Lindo.

Aida Illas scored her first goal of the season on an assist from Ali Tosches and Hanna Ryberg rounded out the scoring with her second goal of the season in the 65th minute on an assist from Emily Bodi.

The Titans will travel to ASA Miami on Saturday in a Region 8 Conference and then will host Polk State College next Tuesday at 6 p.m.
