Women's soccer team ties Monroe College on the road

In a battle of top teams in the nation, the Eastern Florida State College and Monroe College women's soccer teams finished all tied up 2-2 Friday afternoon in Rochester, New York.

Monroe College, who is No. 6 in the country, scored the first goal of the game 29 minutes into the first half. But the Titans, who are No. 1 in both polls, tied the game late in the first half when Sophia Kenny found Klesha Darroux with a little over three minutes left in the first half. It was Darroux's second goal of the season.

It didn't take the Titans long after halftime to take the lead, scoring four minutes into the second half as Kenny assisted on Keli Lindquist's first goal of the season.

The Titans held the lead until the 83rd minute when Monroe College tied it up. From there the two teams played two scoreless overtimes. It is the first tie for the Titans since 2014, when they tied he same Monroe College program in the NJCAA National Championship Tournament. That one ended in penalty kicks, this ended in a tie.

Eastern Florida State College (3-0-1) will play the host and No. 10 Monroe Community College at noon on Saturday.
