Women's soccer trio to be recognized at All-America luncheon

Three members of the Eastern Florida State College women's soccer team will be honored in Philadelphia this weekend.

Katie Lockwood will receive the United Soccer Coaches Association National Junior College Player of the Year award while teammates Nathali Da Silva and Juna Suppan will also be recognized during an All-America luncheon at the Grand Ballroom B of the Pennsylvania Convention Center on Saturday, Jan. 20.

Lockwood, a sophomore midfielder from Huddersfield, England, finished with 17 goals and 12 assists including two games in which she scored four goals. Lockwood scored in nine of the team's 16 games this season and had three game winners.

Da Silva, a sophomore from Rio de Janeiro, was named first team All-American after finishing with a team-high 18 goals and 12 assists and helped the Titans make a run in the postseason with eight goals in the six games.

Suppan, a sophomore from Germany, started all 16 games and led a defensive unit that posted eight shutouts and allowed 0.99 goals per game this season. Suppan also had a goal and two assists. The defender was named to the second team.

It is the sixth straight season that a member of the Eastern Florida State College women's soccer team has been named All-American.
