ASA Brooklyn blanks Moraine Valley in Pool C game

It took ASA Brooklyn a little over a half of soccer to find the range but once they did, the Avengers never looked back scoring the 5-0 victory over No. 10 seed Moraine Valley Communty College.

The No. 6 seed had possession for most of the first half and had numerous chances but Moraine Valley goalkeeper Grace Rollins was up to the challenge and the two teams went into halftime scoreless.

"I think Moraine Valley did a nice job of keeping the middle really compact in their 18 and we knew they would do that so it was just a matter of being patient," ASA Brooklyn head coach Brett Poow said.

The patience paid off three and a half minutes into the second half ASA Brooklyn got on the board as Estelle Badoadana hit a perfect header that Rollins tipped out but the rebound went to Reny Farfan who finished to make it 1-0.

10 minutes later Badoadana scored on a nice thru ball and the Avengers took off. Sara Suarez Queveda, Kaylane Araujo and Tamra Queroz all scored goals in the win.

Goalkeeper Leticia Sandoval and the back four kept Moraine Valley at bay to post the shutout. ASA Brooklyn has not allowed more than one goal in any game this season.

The Avengers will face No. 3 seed Laramie County Community College at 3 p.m. Wednesday with the winner advancing to the National Championship semifinal.

" It's going to be a good game, I think they will robably be one of the best teams we have played this year," Polow said. "It will be a little more physical game tomorrow and I think our players are looking forward to that. That is more of their game. We came here for good games, so we are excited."
