The Eastern Florida State College women's soccer team lost a heaartbreaker Monday night, falling to Daytona State College 3-2 in double overtime in a Region 8 Conference game at Titan Soccer Complex.
Daytona State snapped the Titans four-game winning streak, scoring the game winner with 34 seconds remaining in the second overtime.
After falling behind 1-0 early in the match, sophomore Sarah Chamale stopped outside the box, took a ribble and struck a ball into the far corner to knot the game up, 1-1.
With seven minutes left in the first half, Chamale put the Titans in front as Katie Lockwood hit a corner kick that Juna Suppan headed to the front of the net and Chamale hit past the goalkeeper.
The game would stay 2-1 until Kaila Armstrong tied it with 3:05 left in regulation. Then with 34 seconds left in the second overtime, Armstrong would score her second goal of the game.
The Titans, who are now 8-2 overall and 5-2 in the conference, will finish the regular seaosn on the road Friday, traveling to ASA Miami. The seifinals of the XX Tournament will be next Friday at Daytona State College.
