Women's soccer team blanks ASA Miami

The No. 8-ranked Eastern Florida State College women's soccer team dominated a short-handed ASA Miami team 17-0 in a Region 8 Conference game at Titan Soccer Complex Friday afternoon.

Katie Lockwood got things started quickly, scoring in the first minute of the contest as the sophomore had her second straight big game. Lockwood would score three more early in the second half and finish with four goals for the second straight game, tying the school record for goals in a game.

Nathali Da Silva had the next three goals in the first 15 minutes of the contest and now has 10 on the season. Teammates Sarah Chamale, Klesha Darroux and Destiny Deluca each had two goals on the afternoon while Leslie Tapia, Carina Rodriguez and Jah-Nya Press each scored their first goal of the season.

Cristina Garriga also had a goal in the win as the Titans are now 8-1 overall and 5-1 in the conference.

The Titans will host Daytona State College in a key Region 8 Conference matchup as the two nationally-ranked teams square off at Titan Soccer Complex at 6 p.m. Admission is free and the game will be broadcast live on WEFS-TV and online at efsctitans.com/webcast
