Women's soccer team beats Broward in Region 8 Conference matchup

The Eastern Florida State College women's soccer team opened a busy week with a 3-1 Region 8 Conference win at Titan Soccer Complex.

The Titans improved to 6-1 overall and 3-1 in the conference with the win against Broward College Monday night.

Sophomore Nathali Da Silva opened the scoring with a free kick from the corner that she bent into the far side of the net with 26 minutes left in the first half. It was Da Silva's fifth goal of the season and second straight game with a goal on a free kick.

Broward would tie the game up right before halftime.

But three minutes into the second half Klesha Darroux hit a nice ball through the defense to a streaking Ebony Wiseman, who chipped it over the goalkeeper and into the back of the net t give the Titans the lead once again. It was Wiseman's third goal of the season. 

With 20:28 left in regulation, Sophia Carroll put the game out of reach with her first goal of the season.

It is the first of four games in seven days for the Titans who will travel to Polk State on Wednesday before hosting ASA Miami at 4 p.m. Friday and then Daytona State College next Monday night.
