Eastern Florida Women's Soccer Players Moving On and Up

Eastern Florida Women's Soccer Players Moving On and Up

Ten Eastern Florida women's soccer players have signed to continue their careers at four-year colleges.

They are: Nicole Broderick, Tennessee Wesleyan College, Athens, Tennessee; Abbie and Briana Camargo, Stetson University, DeLand, Florida; Haley Cook, King University, Bristol, Tennessee; Serena Delgado, Asmara Holmes, Rosalina Lindo Dalton State, Dalton, Georgia; Arnela Cordic, University of North Florida, Jacksonville; Julia Hernandez, UCLA, Los Angeles; Helen Ramsey, Lenoir Rhyne, Hickory, North Carolina.

The 10 played key roles in the Titans finishing the season at 17-1 and as NJCAA Division I Women's National Championship runners-up for the second time in four seasons.

The Titans also won their fifth straight NJCAA Region 8 championship and their fourth straight NJCAA District H title.

Hernandez, of Madrid, Spain, the team's second-leading scorer, was an NJCAA and National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) first-team All-American in her one season as a Titan.

NJCAA second-team honors went to sophomore midfielder and school record holder for assists Briana Camargo while sophomore defender Cook was an NSCAA second-team honoree.

"To have 10 players moving on to continue their careers speaks not only to their accomplishments on the field but also in the classroom, which when it comes to transferring to a four-year institution, is equally as important," said Associate Vice President for Athletics and head women's soccer coach Jeff Carr.

"They also are 10 outstanding young women who will continue to excel in whatever they choose to pursue in college and beyond. It was a privilege to coach them and to get to know them."

Broderick, a transfer from Navarro College, hails from Kingston, Jamaica. The Camargos from Ocala, Florida and Orlando Trinity Catholic; Cook from Satellite Beach, Florida and Satellite High; Cordic from Jacksonville, Florida and Wolfson High; Delgado from Parkland, Florida and Marjory Stoneman Douglas High; Holmes from Silver Spring, Maryland and John F. Kennedy High; Lindo from Jacksonville and Mandarin High; and Ramsey from Port St. Lucie, Florida and Treasure Coast High.
