
Women's golf team fires 14-under in first round of Mustang Invitational
The Eastern Florida State College women's golf team fired 14-under par 274 in the first round of the Mustang Invitational at Goose Pond Plantation in Scottsboro, Alabama.
The Titans hold a big lead in the tournament heading into the final round on Tuesday as four of the five golfers that shot rounds under par are Eastern Florida State College golfers.
Freshman Anne Burel shot a 5-under 67 to lead the event while teammate Mila Tang is one stroke behind with a 68. Sophomores Brittany Odic shot a 3-under 69 and Jenna Barnett had a 2-under 70.
Teammate Cayden Challacombe is in eighth place overall after shooting a 74 in the first round.
Shelton State is in second place at 10-over led by Peyton Maraman who shot 1-under 71 in the first round. Jefferson State CC is in third place.
The Titans will tee off Tuesday morning in the final round of the tournament.
