Women's golf team in 8th place after three rounds at national tournament

The Eastern Florida State College women's golf team remained in eighth place after three rounds at the NJCAA Division I National Tournament at Duran Golf Club in Viera.

The Titans shot a 323 in the third round and leads Blinn College by two strokes heading into Thursday's final round.

"Another tough day. Jaida (Furlow) hung in there well with a good back nine, it got away from Gracie (Doke) a bit but she still played better. We just need more of that tomorrow," Eastern Florida State College women's golf coach Jamie Howell said.

Furlow and Doke each shot 6-over in the third round and did it in different ways.

Furlow started off four over after three holes and made the turn at 7-over but played well on the back nine, going 1-under over the final nine holes including a birdie on No. 17.

Doke began the round with a couple of birdies and was 1-under after three holes. The sophomore made the turn 1-over and ran into trouble on holes 16 and 17 to finish with the 79.

Brittany Odic shot an 82 and Jenna Barnett had an 83 with Emma Parker finishing with an 85.

The Titans will tee off from the first tee at 7:30 a.m. for the final round of the tournament.
