Women's golf team in fifth at Kinderlou Forest Spring Invite

The Eastern Florida State College women's golf team is in sixth place after the first round of the Kinderlou Forest Spring Invite in Valdosta, Georgia.

The Titans shot a 323 in the first round and moved up one spot during the second round which did not finish due to darkness. The second round will finish Tuesday morning before the final round.

Truett McConnell shot a 299 to lead after the first round but host Dalton State shot well in the afternoon and holds the lead heading into the final day.

Jenna Barnett is in the top five individually, shooting a 1-over on the front nine and finished with a 4-over 76. The freshman birdied the par 3 No. 5 in both rounds. She is tied for fifth with one hole remaining in the second round.

Teammate Gracie Doke had a couple of birdies, shooting an 81 in the first round and is tied for ninth overall after a strong front nine in the second round and is 2-over through 16 holes.

 Jaida Furlow, Brittany Odic and Emma Parker each shot an 83 in the first round. Furlow shot a 2-over on the front nine while both Odic and Parker shot 42.

The Titans will play in the final round on Tuesday at the Kinderlou Forest Golf Club in Valdosta, Georgia.
