Women's golf team in fifth at SEU Fall Invitational

The Eastern Florida State College women's golf team is in fifth place after the first two rounds of the SEU Fall Invitational at Grasslands Golf and Country Club in Lakeland.

The Titans shot rounds of 325 and 318 and are sitting behind St. Thomas in the standings.

Jenna Barnett is tied for 12th overall after shooting an 80 in the first round and a 76 in the second round. Teammate Gracie Doke is in 15th overall after an 81 and 76.

"Tough day and yet we improved from Round 1. Good comebacks by Barnett and Doke," Eastern Florida State College women's golf coach Jamie Howell said. "Too many unforced errors contributed to higher totals. If we can clean up the basic shots, the scoring will improve noticeably."

Emma Parker shot an 80 and 84 and is in 23rd while Brittany Odic and Jaida Furlow are tied for 27th as both shot 84 and 83.

Stephanie Adeyemo is in 21st playing as an individual, shooting an 83 in the first round and 79 in the second.

The final round will tee off at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
