Women's golf team has solid opening round at Flagler Fall Slam

The Eastern Florida State College women's golf team is 12th after Monday's first round of the Flagler Fall Slam in St. Augustine.

The Titans shot a 318 in the first round and are four strokes behind Colorado Christian and Lenoir-Rhyne.

"The course played fast and firm today, Emma (Parker) and Gracie (Doke) both played well today. If we can clean up the scorecards a little bit tomorrow, there is an opportunity to climb up the leaderboard," Eastern Florida State College women's golf assistant coach Pontus Torgner said.

Emma Parker and Gracie Doke each shot a 78 in the first round and are tied for 38th overall in the tournament. Teammate Brittany Odic shot an 80 while Jenna Barnett had an 82 and Jaida Furlow shot 93.

The Titans will tee off in the final round of the tournament on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.
