Women's golf team in 10th place at World Golf Invitational

The Eastern Florida State College women's golf team opened the season Monday at the World Golf Invitational in St. Augustine.

The Titans are in 10th place overall after the first two rounds, shooting a 612 at Slammer and Squire golf course.

Freshman Sarah Knitter is tied for second overall with rounds of 69 and 72 on Monday. Kittner shot 3-under in the two rounds and is tied with Rollins College's Katharina Hesse. Nova Southeastern's Olivia Gronborg is 5-under heading into Tuesday's final round.

Morela Boyd shot rounds of 74 and 81 and is tied for 41st overall while Savannah Hawthorne shot a 160, Gabrielle Fernandez had a 161 and Gracie Doke shot a 79 in the second round for a 169.

Nova Southeastern is in first place at 5-under after two rounds. Rollins College shot even par and is in second with the University of Tampa in third place.

The Titans will tee off on No. 10 at 8:20 a.m. for the final round of the tournament Tuesday.
