Women's golf team tied for seventh after three rounds at national tournament

The Eastern Florida State College women's golf team remains tied for seventh heading into the final round of the NJCAA Division I National Championship Tournament in Sanford.

The Titans finished with a 327 in the third round and are tied with Redlands Community College for seventh place and are just two strokes away from Mesa Community College for sixth at Mayfair Country Club.

Freshman Morela Boyd continued her solid play at the tournament, shooting a 5-over 77 and is in 17th place overall after three rounds.

Teammate Kira Shellman shot an 81, Delia Timpy shot an 83 and Savannah Hawthorne had an 86.

Shellman is tied for 27th overall heading into Thursday's final round.

Eastern Florida State College will begin at 7:57 a.m. as Gabrielle Fernandez will lead the team off the first tee.

The Titans are making their first appearance at the national tournament.

Seminole State College continues to lead the tournament, shooting a 305 on Wednesday and has a commanding lead on Daytona State College heading into Thursday's final round.
