Women's golf team places seventh in Roadrunner Invitational

The Eastern Florida State College women's golf team wrapped up the Dalton State Roadrunner Invitational Tuesday morning in Georgia.

The Titans placed seventh in the tournament after a final round of 330.

Savannah Hawthorne and Delia Timpy each finished tied for 23rd overall with a 238, while Gabrielle Fernandez finished tied for 31st. Kira Shellman placed in a tie for 38th overall and Olivia Timpy was 41st.

"A tough day and event for us," Eastern Florida State College women's golf coach Jamie Howell said. "Adjusting to the terrain was more difficult than anticipated and we never found a rhythm around the greens. We showed signs of good play but we will need to regroup and prepare for the upcoming district championship. Savannah Hawthorne and Delia Timpy both had encouraging signs throughout the event."

Eastern Florida State College will host the District 6 Championship on April 18-19 at Duran Golf Club.
