The Eastern Florida State College women's golf team shot a 304 to place second at the Monument Golf Oldfield event in Okatie, South Carolina on Tuesday.

"Best three rounds we have played in succession in the six years the team has been competing," Eastern Florida State College women's golf coach Jamie Howell said. "Plenty of positives to take away from this tournament and info to work on before the Seminole State match and then the Dalton State event in one month."

Gabrielle Fernandez shot the best round of the day, firing a 1-over 73 to finish tied for sixth overall. Teammate Savannah Hawthorne was also tied for sixth place after shooting a 74 in the final round.

Kira Shellman finished tied for ninth overall after a 78 in the final round and Morela Boyd was tied for 12th after a 79. Delia Timpy finished 19th overall.

"Awesome job by Gabby and Savannah. Good contributions and balance from Kira, Morela and Delia," Howell said.

Eastern Florida State College will play Seminole State College on March 11 in Lake Mary before traveling to play in the Dalton State Roadrunner Invitational on April 11-12.
