Women's golf team wins Coastal Georgia Winter Invitational

The Eastern Florida State College women's golf team won the Coastal Georgia Winter Invitational Tuesday at the King and Prince Golf Course in St. Simon Island in Georgia.

The Titans shot a 311 as a team and won the tournament by six strokes over host Coastal Georgia.

"Good job by the team as it was a scrap all day," Eastern Florida State College women's golf coach Jamie Howell said. "It was a good experience for the team as more tournaments are lost then won from the lead after day one. Being in the pressure will only help the next time we are in it again."

Freshman Sloan Lanier finished second overall, shooting a 75 in the final round as the Georgia native finished the two days at 149. Teammate Kacey Walker shot a 76 Tuesday while Trinity Falzone had a 79, Delia Timpy shot an 81 and Elise Boccabella had an 82.

The women's golf team will play in the Seminole State Spring Invitational March 3-4.
