Women's golf team in first at Coastal Georgia Winter Invite

The Eastern Florida State College women's golf team is leading the 10th annual Coastal Georgia Winter Invite at the King and Prince Golf Course in St. Simon Island in Georgia.

The Titans shot a program-record 301 as a team in the first round and hold a five-stroke lead over Dalton State heading into the final round.

Sloan Lanier and Trinity Falzone each shot 74s in the round and are tied for third place while teammate Elise Boccabella shot a 75 and is tied for eighth. Sophomore Kacey Walker is tied for 12th after shooting a 78 and Delia Timpy is tied for 27th.

"Good job by the team, 301 is an all-time low round in tournament play and it was achieved by all the players stepping up and contributing," Eastern Florida State College women's golf coach Jamie Howell said. "We will need more of the same in the final round and it should be a good test for all."

Coastal Georgia's Kylee Wheeler and Asbury University's Hannah McCrabb each shot even par 72 to lead the event.
