Women's golf team finishes eighth in Daytona State College event

The Eastern Florida State College women's golf team finished eighth in the Lady Falcon Invitational Saturday at the LPGA International Golf Club in Daytona Beach.

The Titans were led by sophomore Kacey Walker who finished in a tie for ninth place overall after a final round 81. Walker finished 15 over in the tournament which was the best score of the two-year schools in the tournament.

Teammate Elise Boccabella shot her best round of the tournament in the final round, shooting a 79 to finish 36th overall while Delia Timpy tied for 40th in the tournament. Trinity Falzone placed 44th and Sloan Lanier was tied for 45th.

"It was a tough day, windy. The course played difficult and we struggled with it," Eastern Florida State College women's golf coach Jamie Howell said.

The Titans will compete in the Nova Southeastern Shark Invitational on Oct. 7-8.
