Women's golf team wraps up season at Region VIII Tournament

The Eastern Florida State College women's golf team wrapped up the season with a final round of 324 at the Region VIII Tournament at Rockledge Country Club.

Seminole State College won the tournament, shooting a final round 294 to win the tournament with a two-day score of 591. Seminole's Worapitcha Anndit won the individual title, shooting a 70 Sunday and finished with a 139 for the tournament. Seminole State College will advance to the NJCAA Division I National Championship Tournament.

Daytona State College finished second after shooting a 298 Sunday and also advanced to the national tournament.

Eastern Florida State College's Kacey Walker shot a 74 in the final round and placed fifth overall with a two-day score of 149. Teammate Delia Timpy shot an 81 for the second straight round to finish tied for 12th place.

"If you asked her, she is probably disappointed because the only way she could move on was to probably be a medalist but that is a good solid couple of rounds," Eastern Florida State College women's golf coach Jamie Howell said. "She is close and all she is going to do is keep getting better and there is a lot of upside to her game."

Sophomore Gianna Piscitelli shot an 80 in her final round as a Titan and finished in 15th place.

"She brought stability to the program, she brought fun. She keeps things light and we will miss that personality," Howell said. "She laid some good groundwork for the program."
