Women's golf team in fifth at Panther Invitational

The Eastern Florida State College women's golf team is in fifth place after the first round of the Florida Tech Panther Invitational at Duran Golf Club in Viera.

Freshman Kacey Walker is tied for fifth place overall after shooting a 1-over 73 on Sunday. Walker had birdies on 10, 11 and 13 to get to 2-under but finished with three bogeys for the 73.

Teammate Trinity Falzone is in 28th place after shooting an 86 while Delia Timpy is tied for 29th with an 87. Gianna Piscitelli is in 31st place overall.

Florida Tech is leading the tournament after shooting 1-over 289 as a team in the first round led by Lucy Eaton who leads after shooting a 2-under 70. Seminole State College is in second six strokes behind Florida Tech.

The Titans will tee off in the second round at 8:39 a.m.
