Women's golf team wins the Wallace State Spring Invitational

The Eastern Florida State College women's golf team won the Wallace State Spring Invitational at Cross Creek Golf Club in Hancville, Alabama on Tuesday afternoon.

The Titans shot 334 in the final round to finish the tournament at 667, beating Wallace State Community College for the title.

Individually Eastern Florida State College had the top three finishers in the invitational. Freshman Kacey Walker won her second individual title of the spring season, shooting 2-over 74 in the final round to finish the tournament 6-over.

Freshman teammate Delia Timpy was second overall, shooting an 81 on Tuesday while sophomore Gianna Piscitelli shot a 91 in the final round to finish third overall. Trinity Falzone bounced back with an 88 to move up to seventh place overall.

"We did a good job hanging in there as the course played difficult around the greens," Eastern Florida State College women's golf coach Jamie Howell said. "Patience was a premium for all of them and handling the conditions was the biggest challenge. Well done on finishing 1-2-3 in individual portion of event."

The Titans will compete in the Florida Tech Panther Invitational beginning Sunday at Duran Golf Club. The three-day event is the final regular season match for the women's golf team who will compete in the Region 8 State Tournament on April 27-28.
