Women's golf team in second after first day of Coastal Georgia Winter Invitational

The Eastern Florida State College women's golf team is in second place after the first round of the Coastal Georgia Winter Invitational at St. Simons Island, Ga.

The Titans shot a 317 in the first round and are three strokes behind host Coastal Georgia heading into the final day on Tuesday.

Freshman Delia Timpy is tied for sixth overall, shooting a 78 while teammates Kacey Walker and Trinity Falzone are tied for eighth with 79s. Sophomore Gianna Piscitelli shot an 81 and is tied for 14th

"We had some good balance today and put up a good score and are right in the thick of it," Eastern Florida State College women's golf coach Jamie Howell said. "We need to clean up the unforced errors, but a lot of positives from today's round."

The round of 317 is one stroke better than their best round of the fall.
