Women's golf team to compete in Region 8 Tournament

The Eastern Florida State College women's golf team will compete in the NJCAA Region 8 Women's Golf Championships this weekend at LPGA International in Daytona Beach.

The Titans are coming off a strong showing in the Florida Tech Panther Invitational and will battle favorites Daytona State College and Seminole State College for a bid to the NJCAA National Championship Tournament May 14-17 in Mesa, Arizona.

Sophomores Lauren Holder and Katelyn McCallum are healthy and back to lead the team into the postseason along with Danica Swaggerty and freshman Dayna Owens.

Holder and Owens each finished in the top 28 of the eight-team Florida Tech Panther Invitational that was made up mostly of NCAA Division II teams.

The first round will be Friday with the Titans teeing off at 12:30 p.m.
