Women's basketball team loses final regular-season game

The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team lost their final regular season game on the road Saturday afternoon.

The No 22 ranked Titans finished the regular season 21-8 overall and 13-5 in the conference after the 84-67 lost at Hillsborough Community College.

Eastern Florida State College led most of the first half but after honoring the sophomore class at halftime, the Hawks took off in the third quarter, outscoring the Titans 25-14 in the third. Hillsborough Community College held on to the lead the entire fourth quarter, handing the Titans their fifth conference loss.

Jalei O'Neal led the way with 16 points for Eastern Florida State College while Amanda Baumgarte had 13 and E'Zaria Adams finished with 10. Ashleigh Battle had eight points, seven assists and five rebounds.

Eastern Florida State College will now wait to see who they will play in the quarterfinals of the FCSAA Region VIII Tournament on Wednesday, March 12 at Northwest Florida State College in Niceville.
