The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team got off to a slow start and could never get going in the semifinals of the FCSAA Women's Basketball Championship in Niceville.
The Titans lost to the defending national champion and host Northwest Florida State College 65-38 on Friday night. The loss snapped a 25-game winning streak for the Titans.
After a slow first quarter saw them down by as many as 12 points and headed to the second quarter down 11. The Titans would play better in the second quarter, cutting the lead to 10 at halftime.
Trailing 31-21, the third quarter saw Northwest Florida State College push the lead to 19 and cruised to the victory.
Amelia Hassett finished with 14 points and seven rebounds in the loss.
Eastern Florida State College is now 27-4 on the season and will wait to see if they receive an at-large bid to the NJCAA Division I National Tournament in Casper, Wyoming beginning March 26.
