Amelia Hassett sets program record in women's basketball win

The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team won their 20th straight game of the season on Tuesday night.

The eighth-ranked Titans defeated Santa Fe College 89-56 Tuesday night to improve to 16-0 in the Citrus Conference and is 21-3 overall.

Sophomore Amelia Hassett had 21 points and 10 rebounds to record her 19th double-double of the season which is a program record. Hassett has recorded four straight double-doubles and has scored in double figures in the past 20 games.

Lynn Rieth had two early 3-pointers to help the Titans jump out to a 9-2 lead and increased the lead to 25-9 by the end of the first quarter.

Esra Sen came off the bench and had seven points in the second quarter as the Titans used some crisp passing to run out to a big 45-19 lead at halftime.

Sen scored another eight points in the third quarter as the Titans scored 27 points in the third quarter. Mackenzie Auton hit a couple of 3-pointers in the fourth quarter to lock up the victory.

Sen finished with 15 points while Martina Galvez Narro had 11 points and Jaidyn Koerdt finished with 10 points. Ashleigh Battle had nine assists in the win.

Eastern Florida State College will travel to Indian River State College Saturday for a conference game before returning to Titan Field House next Wednesday night against Daytona State College.
