Women's basketball team picks up ninth win

The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team won their eighth straight game on Tuesday night.

The No. 22 ranked Titans defeated DME Academy 65-41 at Titan Field House to improve to 9-3 overall on the season.

A 13-0 run in the middle of the first quarter helped jump start the Titans who held a 10-point lead after the first as the duo of Amelia Hassett and Lynn Rieth combined for 13 of the team's 20 points in the quarter.

The Titans would struggle in the second quarter but managed to head to halftime leading by seven, 30-23.

The second half saw the Titans slowly pull away for the victory.

Hassett celebrated her birthday by leading all scorers with 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to record her eighth straight double-double and her 10th of the season.

Rieth would finish with 12 points while E'Zaria Adams and Kristiana Kulackovska each scored 10 points for the Titans.

Eastern Florida State College will host Florida Southwestern in a Citrus Conference game on Saturday afternoon. The women's basketball game will begin at 2 p.m. and attendance at Titan Field House is free. The game will be shown live online on the EFSC Titans YouTube page.
