Women's basketball team loses in overtime

The Eastern Florida State College women' basketball team lost in overtime Saturday afternoon in the Battle on Beach Blvd in Jacksonville.

The third-ranked Titans fell to 1-1 as Pensacola State College picked up the win 87-82 in overtime.

Sophomore Amelia Hassett had her best offensive game of her Titans career on Saturday, scoring 35 points to go with 12 rebounds and seven blocked shots.

But she was one of three players to foul out in the contest.

Jaidyn Koerdt scored 16 points as eight players scored in the game. Kristiana Kulackovska had six rebounds and six assists in the game.

Pensacola State is now 2-0 on the season, picking up wins against the Titans and Florida SouthWestern over the weekend.

Eastern Florida State College will travel to Niceville to play in the Northwest Florida Tournament next weekend. The Titans will play No. 6 Gulf Coast State College Friday and then No. 1 Northwest Florida State College on Saturday night.
