Mputu named NJCAA Division I All-America second team

Eastern Florida State College women's basketball player L'or Eyeba Mputu was named to the NJCAA Division I All-America second team on Tuesday.

The sophomore from the Democratic Republic of Congo helped the Titans win a program-best 33 wins and reach the NJCAA Division I National Tournament semifinals.

Mputu started 33 of the team's 35 games and averaged 12.3 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 14.7 minutes per game. The forward was named to the all-Central Conference Player of the Year and the all-state team as she finished her two seasons with 742 points, 430 rebounds and 93 blocks in 67 games.

Mputu is the third Titan in program history to be named an All-American and second to make the second team.

The Titans are 61-7 in the past two seasons and head coach MJ Baker is 134-44 with two conference titles, a Region VIII championship and two trips to the national tournament in her six seasons at Eastern Florida State College.
