Women's basketball team hosts Daytona State Saturday afternoon

The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team will host Daytona State College Saturday afternoon at Titan Field House on the Melbourne campus.

The second-ranked Titans come into the matchup with a 9-0 record in the Central Conference and have won 22 straight conference games.

Daytona State College has lost their last two games and is 3-7 in the past 10 and are looking to snap a six-game losing streak to the Titans.

It will be a tough task as Eastern Florida State College is unbeaten at home this season and have won 19 straight at Titan Field House.

The Titans are third in the state and 10th in the nation in scoring, averaging 80.1 points per game this season. They are leading the state in rebounding, grabbing 48.3 rebounds per game as well as leading the state in blocked shots with 7.2 per game. The 7.2 blocks per game is third-best in the nation and the team is seventh in the nation in rebounding.

L'or Eyeba Mputu is averaging 13 points and 6.9 rebounds per game and has scored in double digits in each of the past 12 games. Mputu is leading Region 8 in field goal percentage, making 60.7 percent of her shots this season.

Shadaria Smith is averaging 11.5 and has scored in double digits in three of the past four games. The sophomore guard is leading Region 8 in 3-point shooting percentage, making 40.1 percent of her 3-pointers.

Isimenme Ozzy-Momodu is averaging 10.5 points and 9.3 rebounds per game and has recorded 10 double-doubles this season. She has scored double digits in seven straight games and had a season-high 17 points and 14 rebounds in the last meeting with Daytona State College.

Leilani Guion is also averaging 10 points per game for the Titans and has scored at least 12 points in each of the past five games. The sophomore guard is averaging 14.8 per game in the past five games.

Daytona State College's Rylan Moffitt is coming off a season-high 25 point performance against Hillsborough Community College and has at least 12 points in the past four games.

Teammate Nashani Gilbert is averaging 16.6 points per game this season and has scored at least 10 points in 20 of the team's 22 games this season.
