Women's basketball team hits road for conference game

The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team heads to Gainesville Wednesday for a Central Conference game against Santa Fe College.

The second-ranked Titans are 8-0 in the conference and have won 21 straight Central Conference games. Santa Fe College comes into the contest 3-6 in the conference and is coming off an overtime win against Florida State College at Jacksonville on Saturday.

Santa Fe's Malea Brown leads the Saints scoring 19.2 points per game in 23 games which is third-best in Region 8.

Eastern Florida State College's L'or Eyeba Mputu is scoring 12.8 points and grabbing 6.9 rebounds per game this season while teammate Shadaria Smith is averaging 11.6 points. The duo of Isimenme Ozzy-Momodu and Leilani Guion are both scoring 10 points per game.

Wednesday's conference game in Gainesville will tip off at 5:30 p.m. The Titans, who are No. 1 in the Region 8 coaches poll, will return to Titan Field House Saturday for a 2 p.m. conference game against Daytona State College.
