Women's basketball team hosts St. Petersburg Saturday on WEFS-TV

The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team will host St. Petersburg College in a battle between the top two teams in the Central Conference on Saturday.

The second-ranked Titans, who are 22-1 overall and 6-0 in the conference, have won 19 straight conference games and have 17 straight wins at home. St. Petersburg's only conference loss was against Eastern Florida State College in the first meeting, 65-55.

In that contest, Eastern Florida State College jumped out to a big lead, but St. Petersburg cut it to 10 in the fourth quarter. Isimenme Ozzy-Momodu scored 13 points and grabbed 12 rebounds while Leilani Guion scored 14 points and had nine assists.

St. Petersburg College has three players averaging double figures this season as Olivia Delancy is averaging 15 points and Julie Ruiz-Paneto is averaging 14 points per game. Teammate Jaylen Ponder is averaging a double-double, scoring 11 points and grabbing 11 rebounds per game. Ponder has 17 double-doubles this season.

Saturday's game will tip off at 2 p.m. and admission is free. The game will also be shown on WEFS-TV, which is channel 9 or 455 on Spectrum, 68 on DirecTV, 30 on Dish and 68 on AT&T Uverse. The game will also be shown live online at EFSC Titans YouTube page.
