The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team defeated its second ranked opponent this month on Friday evening.
The 13th-ranked Titans defeated No. 18 Florida Southwestern 74-54 at the Best Western Gateway Grand Classic to improve to 5-0 on the season.
Eastern Florida State College took a 10-point lead in the first quarter, but the Bucs went on an 11-0 run to take their only lead of the contest. The Bucs would head into the second quarter leading 18-17.
But the Titans quickly took the lead back and built it to 11 at halftime. Shadaria Smith scored 13 of her 20 points in the first half.
Isimenme Ozzy-Momodu scored 14 points and grabbed a season-high 16 rebounds in the win. It is Momodu's third double-double of the season.
L'or Eyeba Mputu also recorded her third double-double of the season as the sophomore recorded 12 points and 10 rebounds. Amelia Hassett grabbed 11 rebounds as the Titans outrebounded Florida Southwestern 56-33.
Eastern Florida State College will play Miami Dade College at noon Saturday in the tournament.
