Women's basketball team preparing for Moberly Area CC in first round of national tournament

The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team will open the NJCAA Division I National Championship Tournament on Wednesday afternoon.

The Titans come into the national tournament 26-4 and the No. 18 seed. They will play Moberly Area Community College who is 26-5 and the No. 15 seed at 3 p.m. in the first round at the Rip Griffin Center, which is the home of the Lubbock Christian University teams.

Moberly Area CC is led by Indya Green who is No. 11 in the nation in scoring, averaging 19.1 points and 11.5 rebounds per game this season. The Greyhounds are eighth in the country in points per game, averaging 81.6 points per game this season and are allowing just 53.9 points.

Eastern Florida State College is averaging 75.3 points per game while allowing 57.3 points. Freshman Rapuluchi Ngorka is fourth in the nation in rebounding, averaging 13.2 per game. The Madrid, Spain native is scoring 13.8 points per game and has recorded 17 double-doubles this season.

Teammate L'or Eyeba Mputu is shooting 57.9 percent from the floor this season while Ngorka is shooting 56.8 percent.
