Women's basketball team hosts Santa Fe Wednesday

The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team will put its 10-game win streak on the line in a conference game Wednesday night.

The Titans, who are 22-3 overall and 10-0 in the Central Conference, will host Santa Fe College at 5:30 p.m. at Titan Field House on the Melbourne campus.

Eastern Florida State College has wrapped up the Central Conference regular season title and will cut down the nets after the men's game Wednesday, which begins at 7:30 p.m.

The women's basketball program has won its first conference title since the 2015-16 season and has not had an unbeaten conference season. The 10-game win streak is also the most in program history.

Freshman Rapuluchi Ngorka is leading the state in rebounds per game with 13 which is fourth-best in the nation. The forward from Madrid, Spain is also leading the team in scoring, averaging 14.5 points per game.

Teammate Shadaria Smith is averaging 15.2 points in conference games this season and 12.9 points on the season.

Santa Fe's Aleisha Curry is coming off a strong 15-point, 13 rebound game against the Florida State College at Jacksonville. The center is averaging 10.6 rebounds per game this season which is tied for second in the state.

The Titans will tip off against Santa Fe at 5:30 p.m. and admission is free at Titan Field House on the Melbourne campus. The game will also be broadcast live on WEFS-TV, Channel 9 or 455 on Spectrum, 68 on DirecTV, 30 on Dish and 68 on AT&T Uverse.
