Rapuluchi Ngorka named NJCAA Division I Player of the Week

Eastern Florida State College women's basketball player Rapuluchi Ngorka is the NJCAA Division I National Player of the Week.

The freshman from Madrid, Spain led the Titans to two big Central Conference wins last week, scoring 18 points and grabbed 17 rebounds against Santa Fe and then recorded 15 points and 12 rebounds against Daytona State College.

The forward is averaging 15.6 points this season and her 13.0 rebounds per game is leading Region VIII. She is shooting 58.4 percent from the floor this season which is third in the state. Ngorka has recorded 11 double-doubles this season in her first 19 games.

Ngorka is the second women's basketball player to win a national player of the week award in program history. Natalia Beaumont was named national player of the week during the 2020-21 season.

Ngorka and the Titans will host St. Petersburg College tonight at Titan Field House on the Melbourne campus. Tip-off is at 5:30 p.m. and admission is free.
