Women's basketball team hits road for busy weekend

The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team will travel north this weekend for the Thanksgiving Classic in Pensacola.

The No. 17-ranked Titans will play Walters State Community College at 6:30 p.m. Friday in Pensacola. Walters State is 4-2 on the season and comes in riding a four-game win streak. Kiera Hill is averaging 19 points per game for the Senators, who has at least 18 in each of her past three games.

 On Saturday, No. 20 Pensacola and the Titans will meet at 3 p.m. Pensacola is 7-0 on the season and is led by Kristin Williams who is averaging 16 points per game. Tai'Shenka Porchia, Douthshine Prien and Aniyah Brown are all averaging 10 points.

Eastern Florida State College is 6-0 this season and has three players averaging at least 11 points per game. Rapuluchi Ngorka is averaging 15 points and 12 rebounds per game and has four double-doubles this season. L'or Eyeba Mputu comes into the weekend averaging 13 points while Shadaria Smith is averaging 11 points per game.

Then on Sunday the Titans will travel to Gulf Coast State College to face the Commodores who are 5-1 this season and receiving votes in the latest NJCAA Division I poll. Gulf Coast State's lone loss is to EFSC in the Women's Basketball Shootout.
