Women's basketball team wins again Saturday in Women's Basketball Shootout

The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team improved to 2-0 Saturday with a win over Indian River State College at the Women's Basketball Shootout at Titan Field House. 

The Titans are one of three teams that won both games in the tournament, joining Chipola College and Pensacola State College to go 2-0 on the weekend.

Eastern Florida State College defeated Indian River State College on Saturday as freshman Rapuluchi Ngorka had a career night, scoring 16 points and grabbing 21 rebounds in the 72-56 win. Ngorka's 21 rebounds is the fifth-most in program history, tying Trudy Walker's 21-rebound effort.

After a close first quarter, the Titans scored seven of the final nine points to jump out to a 14-point lead heading to the fourth quarter.

L'or Eyeba Mputu finished with 13 points and six rebounds for the Titans.

Chipola College had an easy win, defeating Florida State College 70-21 on Saturday while Pensacola State College beat Miami Dade 95-54 in the first game of the day. Gulf Coast picked up their first win of the day. Gulf Coast defeated Santa Fe 95-54behind strong performances by Ta'Shonna Wright Gaskins and Ashley Baez.

The Titans will travel to Embry-Riddle on Monday night for an exhibition game before hosting Miami Dade Wednesday night at 5:30 p.m.
