Six women's basketball players sign to play at four-year colleges
Six members of the Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team have signed letters of intent to attend four-year colleges in the Fall.
Four of those six will be heading to NCAA Division I programs.
Guard Milan Schimmel will be heading to the University of Cincinnati after averaging 14.5 points and 7.2 rebounds per game in 30 games for the Titans and was named to the first team all-Suncoast Conference team. Cincinnati went 22-10 last season and went 11-5 in the American Athletic Conference.
Guard Skye Williams is heading to Towson University after averaging 15.7 points and 5.2 rebounds per game and was named to the first team All-Suncoast Conference team. Williams finished her two seasons with the Titans with 838 points in her career. She will attend Towson University who went 14-15 last season and 9-9 in the Colonial Athletic Conference.
Guard Jacquelyn Levay is heading to Sam Houston State after scoring 11.9 points per game and shot 41.6 percent from the 3-point line in 23 games and was named to the first team all-Suncoast Conference team. In her two seasons with the Titans, Levay made 133 3-pointers and finished with over 600 points. Sam Houston State finished 23-6 last season and 16-4 in the Southland Conference.
Forward Victoria Lewis will attend Bellarmine University in Louisville, Kentucky after playing in 17 games in her only season for the Titans. Bellarmine University finished 18-11 overall and 12-8 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
Mercy Gonzalez will be attending the University of Colorado Colorado Springs in the fall. Gonzalez played in 30 games for the Titans, averaging six points and 4.8 rebounds per game for the Titans. In her two seasons the guard scored 294 points and grabbed 274 rebounds in 57 games. She will play with the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, an NCAA Division II program that finished 11-17 last season, 10-12 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
Alana Pinder will attend Benedictine University at Mesa in Arizona in the Fall. The guard played in 30 games for the Titans and played in 55 games in her career. She will attend Benedictine University at Mesa which is an NAIA school that was 19-9 overall and 7-7 in the California Pacific Conference last season.
The Titans women's basketball team will play in the spring this season due to the COVID-19 virus with games scheduled to begin Jan. 22.
