Big top 25 matchup on Sophomore Day for women's basketball team

The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team will host Florida Southwestern State College in a battle of top 25 teams in the nation Saturday afternoon in a Suncoast Conference matchup.

The Titans come into the game 22-6 overall, 6-2 in the conference and No. 22 in the latest NJCAA Division I poll as they head into the final regular-season game of the season.

Florida Southwestern is No. 9 in the poll at 24-5 overall and 8-0 in the conference this season and are the only team to beat the Titans this season at Titan Field House. 

Both teams come into the game averaging 83 points per game which ranks them both in the top 10 in the nation. The Titans are led by sophomore Skye Williams who is averaging 16 points per game while teammate Jacquelyn Levay is eighth in the nation in 3-point shooting percentage, hitting 44.6 percent of her shots.

Florida Southwestern is led by Za'Nautica Downs comes into the matchup averaging 19 points per game.

And both Downs and Williams have come up big in the first two games of the series as Downs averages 27.5 points while Williams is averaging 23.5.

Saturday is the final game of the regular season for the Titans, who will honor the sophomore class after the game. The game will tip off at 2 p.m. at Titan Field House and admission is free.
