Women's basketball team edges IMG Academy

Freshman Skye Williams made two big shots in the final 47 seconds to lift the Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team past IMG Academy 70-69 Saturday afternoon at Titan Field House.

IMG Academy led by three with under two minutes left, Taylor Jones made a shot and then Williams gave the Titans a 68-67 lead with 47 seconds, but IMG Academy would answer to take the lead. Williams drove and hit another basket to give the Titans the lead with 25 seconds left. IMG Academy had a shot to win it but Mercy Gonzalez ripped down the rebound in the final seconds to secure the win.

Jacquelyn Levay once again led the Titans with 21 points in the game and has scored 20-plus points in the past two games. Williams finished with 15 points while Sierra Votaw scored 12 and Angeni Worley fiished with 11 points.

Alaina Rice scored 18 points for IMG Academy.

The Titans, who are now 14-11 on the season, will return to Mid-Florida Conference action next Saturday, traveling to St. Petersburg for a 5:30 p.m. game.
