Women's basketball team falls to Florida Southwestern

The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team fell to No. 13 Florida Southwestern 81-61 on the road Saturday afternoon in a Suncoast Conference game.

The Titans, who are now 11-10 overall and 1-2 in the conference, finished the first quarter on a 7-2 run to trail by just a basket and kept things close as it was a two-point game heading to halftime.

But Florida Southwestern finished the third quarter on a 13-4 run to pull away and pick up the win.

Skye Williams had 14 points, Sierra Votaw had 11 and Jacquelyn Levay finished with 10 points for the Titans. Shondell Vickers led Florida Southwestern with 22 points and 13 rebounds.

Eastern Florida State College will return to Titan Field House on Wednesday, Jan. 30 against St. Petersburg College at 5:30 p.m. and admission is free.
