Women's basketball team beats Hillsborough

The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team hit 12 3-pointers in a 96-74 victory over Hillsborough Community College Wednesday night in a Suncoast Conference game at Titan Field House.

The Titans, who improved to 11-9 overall and 1-1 in the conference, hit 12 of more 3-pointers for the third time this season and the 96 points was the third most points of the season for the women's basketball team.

Angeni Worley tied a season high with five 3-pointers as the sophomore finished with 17 points while freshman Tynasia Bunting led the Titans with a game-high 23 points. Five different players had a 3-pointer in the win which snapped a three-game losing streak for the Titans.

The Titans broke open a tie game with a 10-0 run late in the first quarter behind 3-pointers by Worley and Mercy Gonzalez. The lead reach 20 in the second quarter and the Titans never looked back.

Eastern Florida State College will hit the road on Saturday, traveling to Florida Southwestern for a Suncoast Conference game beginning at 2 p.m.
