Women's basketball team uses big third quarter to top Georgia Highlands

The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team scored 41 points in the third quarter to pull away from Georgia Highlands at the South Georgia Tech Holiday Classic in Americus, Ga.

The 41 points is the most points in a quarter by the Titans since they moved to playing four quarters instead of halfs.

The Titans were trailing Georgia Highlands at halftime, but outscored the Chargers 41-8 in the third quarter and 65-19 in the second half to pick up the 101-58 win. The 101 points is a season best for the Titans 

Eastern Florida State College improved to 10-6 on the season with the win as seven players scored in double figures led by the duo of Skye Williams and Isabella Lopez who each had 19 points. Tynasia Bunting added 14 while Jacquelyn Levay had 13, Briana Fahy and Taylor Jones each had 11 and Sierra Votaw finished with 10 points.

The Titans, who have won three of the past four, will play No. 16 South Georgia Tech at 4 p.m. on the final day of the South Georgia Tech Holiday Classic. South Georgia Tech is 13-2 and is coming off a loss to No. 12 Shelton State in the tournament.
