Women's basketball team tops ASA Miami in home opener

The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team were victorious against ASA Miami 67-57 in their home opener Tuesday evening to improve their record to 5-1.

Freshman Sierra Votaw led the way for the Titans with 20 points and two blocks. 

The Titans jumped out to an early 25-10 lead in the first quarter and they entered halftime with a 40-19 lead. The Silver Storm fought back in the third quarter, outscoring the Titans 26-15. The fourth quarter was back and forth, but the Titans held on to secure the victory.

"Tonight was a great team win with a successful game plan of having an inside-outside presence," Eastern Florida State College women's basketball head coach MJ Baker said.  "Thankfully we started the game off strong and were able to pull it out."

Freshman Jacquelyn Levay filled up the stat sheet with 13 points, five rebounds, and four steals. Sophomore Angeni Worley added 12 points and six assists.

The Titans will travel to Santa Fe College on Friday, 6 p.m. and will return to Titan Field House on the Melbourne Campus Dec. 4 to play Florida State College at Jacksonville.
