Women's basketball team opens season with a win

The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team won its season opener Friday afternoon, beating Palm Beach State College 83-65 at the Indian River State College Tip-Off Classic.

The Titans jumped out to a nine-point lead in the first quarter and kept t into halftime. Up 11 heading to the fourth quarter, Eastern Florida State College outscored Palm Beach 27-12 to pick up the win.

Freshmen Tynasia Bunting and Jacquelyn Levay each scored 17 points in their first Titans games as 11 different players scored in the win.

The Titans will play host Indian River State College at 2 p.m. in the final day of the tip-off classic Saturday.
